Vestvågøya – Leknes
Leknes is one of the towns in the Lofoten Islands, located on Vestvågøya. In this section, I will mainly talk about the Haukland Beach and the accommodation we stayed in for that day.

Haukland beach
After traveling for about 1 hour and 10 minutes by car, from Thon Lofoten Hotel, we finally reached Haukland beach as one of the stop points. In winter, big waves were crashing onto the shore blanketed with a layer of snow. It is a picturesque beach where one can take instagramable pictures!
You can take a leisure walk to Uttakleiv as seen in the picture below. The walk is about 4 km and it takes about 0.5-1 hour. However, when we went there during winter, the winds were too strong and we were freezing. Hence, we only walked a little alongside the beach and took some pictures before heading back.
You can still visit the beach during winter to view the scenery but it would be better to visit in summer, as it has more favorable conditions to hike or walk around the area.

Lofoten Rorbu Lodge
The Lofoten Rorbu Lodge is located at Offersøyveien 1, Leknes, Leknes, Norway, 8370. The lodge is one of my favorite accommodations during the trip. We booked a Superior Villa where its benefits include free coffee, tea, WIFI and parking.
It has two levels — The lower level includes the kitchen, living area and a toilet. On the top level, it has 4 bedrooms with 2 beds each. The lodge also has a small balcony which leads on to a breathtaking seascape. It also increases the chance to see the northern lights as it is completely dark at night, far away from any light pollution. In the morning, we were also greeted by an ethereal sunrise. It’s definitely worth the stay!
